Domaine Vernay

The Georges Vernay Domain has been established in the Rhône Valley since 1940, in Condrieu. The Domain has gained legendary status thanks to the pioneering work of Georges Vernay, known as the "pope of Condrieu". Through meticulous work and suitable plantations on the steep hillsides of Condrieu, Georges elevated the Viognier grape variety and the Condrieu appellation to new heights. In 1996, his equally talented daughter Christine took over the Domain. She continues the tradition of the Domain's legendary Condrieu wines and also relaunches the red wines with the Maison Rouge cuvée in Côte Rotie. The vineyards are cultivated using Organic Agriculture practices. The whites, while still powerful, display profiles full of freshness. The reds focus on finesse rather than power, with silky textures and infused flavors. Wines of great class.
