Château des Rontets

Located on the border between Mâconnais and Beaujolais, the Château des Rontets enjoys an exceptional setting overlooking the village of Fuissé. Claire and Fabio Gazeau-Montrasi took over this family estate in 1994 and have been skillfully managing it using organic methods. They produce here distinctive and intense Pouilly-Fuissé wines, originating from exceptional terroirs situated at over 350m altitude. Each plot of land on the estate seems to have its own microclimate. The wildlife and flora are still very much present, with Claire and Fabio promoting agroforestry for sustainable viticulture. In the cellar, observation and patience are key. The aging process is lengthy, mainly in large oak containers (foudres), and the couple knows how to adapt to each vintage, always seeking freshness alongside ripeness. The wines are incredibly elegant!
