Terrazas de los Andes: excellence from the heights of Argentina
At the foot of the majestic Andes mountain range, in the Mendoza region of Argentina, Terrazas de los Andes embodies the perfect alliance between high-altitude terroir, winemaking expertise, and French passion. Founded by Moët & Chandon in the 1990s, this prestigious estate takes its name from the "terrazas" - natural terraces located at altitudes ranging from 1,000 to 1,800 meters - which provide exceptional growing conditions.
A unique high-altitude terroir
Thanks to the altitude, the vines benefit from a temperate climate, a significant temperature difference between day and night, and well-drained soils. This ideal combination promotes a slow and complete ripening of the grapes, enhancing the aromatic concentration and freshness of the wines. The estate mainly cultivates Malbec, the emblematic grape of Argentina, as well as Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Chardonnay, and Torrontés.
Expressive, powerful, and elegant wines
The wines of Terrazas de los Andes stand out for their intensity, balance, and structure. The Malbec Reserva, from the oldest plots of the estate, captivates with its aromas of ripe black fruits, sweet spices, and violets. The high-end cuvées, such as the Grand Malbec or the Cheval des Andes (in collaboration with Château Cheval Blanc), showcase remarkable refinement and longevity.
Sustainable commitment and environmental respect
Terrazas de los Andes practices sustainable viticulture, limiting water usage, preserving local biodiversity, and reducing its carbon footprint. The estate also engages in social projects to support local communities.
