Ostia Tempore is a rare wine, far from American standards. The story of this unique wine is linked to Bertrand de Villaine, co-manager of the legendary domain of Romanée Conti. Fond of foreign wines and the Pinot Noir grape variety, his travels to the United States led him in 2008 to discover an exceptional terroir in Oregon, and more specifically in the Willamette Valley, a preferred terroir for Pinot Noir in the United States.
The grapes that make up Ostia Tempore all come from a single climat located in the "Eola Amity Hills" appellation, on vines planted by Bertrand de Villaine himself since 2008. The methodology is naturally influenced by Burgundy, and everything is organically cultivated. To our great pleasure, a Chardonnay has also been produced there recently. The wines in both colors are stunning, oscillating between aromatic power and velvety mouthfeel, with an aromatic palette of precious woods, camphor, peony, dried flowers, and infused black fruits for the Pinot Noir version. In the Chardonnay version, the wine stands up to the greatest whites of the Côte de Beaune... and we mean every word! A must-discover.
