Domaine Taupenot-Merme

The Taupenot-Merne estate offers both wines from the Côte de Beaune (Auxey, Saint Romain) and from the Côte de Nuits. This is thanks to the marriage of Jean Taupenot (originally from St Romain) with Denise Merme (originally from Morey) in 1963. Denise, through her Merme lineage, comes from a very long line of iconic winegrowers from the Côte de Nuits.

The vines have an average age of over 40 years and are now cultivated by Virginie and her brother Romain, the children of Denise and Jean. A family tradition aimed at preserving this magnificent vineyard. The latest vintages at the estate have been great successes, the wines are models of balance and aromatic purity, without over-extraction or excessive alcohol. New oak barrels are used sparingly and everything is done to not mask the magnificent grapes offered by the old vines of the estate. The wines also have excellent aging potential. A classic style that comforts us with the great wines from both sides, fine and elegant pinots ennobled by high-quality oak barrel aging.

All the magnums presented here are directly from the estate's cellars, a chance and a true honor considering the laudable reputation of Virginie and her brother Romain's wines!
