Founded in 1872 by Lucien Leclerc, the Leclerc Briant house settled in Epernay, Champagne, in 1955. Several generations of the Leclerc family succeeded each other to develop the expertise of this house. By the end of the 1950s, Bertrand Leclerc decided to undertake organic farming within his domain. The first certifications were obtained by his son from the fifth generation of Leclerc Briant. The Leclerc Briant house was a pioneer in conducting biodynamic farming in Champagne. In the sixties, the Leclerc family planted a small plot of Chardonnay, called La Croisette, which would become one of the most beautiful selections of the domain. After some difficult years, the Leclerc Briant house was acquired in 2012 by an American couple, Mark Nunnelly and Denise Dupré, who decided to revive the house and the domain. Always respecting the production initiated by the Leclerc Briant family, this couple modernized the house and offered modern and respectful wines.
Today, the Leclerc Briant house has 14 hectares of vineyards located in Grand Cru areas like Mailly and Le Mesnil, and in Premier Cru areas like Hautsvillers, Cumières, or Trépail. The Leclerc Briant domain still upholds strong commitments to biodynamics and organic certifications. In collaboration with Hervé Jestin, an oenologist specialized in biodynamics, the Leclerc Briant house practices a gentle and natural winemaking process throughout all stages of wine production. Therefore, the Leclerc Briant house offers authentic and organic wines whose fruit has been respected throughout the entire process.
Leclerc Briant House now offers 3 ranges of champagnes. You will find "classic" champagnes, "parcel selection" champagnes, and "Specialties" champagnes. Each range offers high-quality champagnes with a subtle and refined taste that will accompany all your events.
