This magnum of Vosne-Romanée 2023 by Joseph Drouhin brilliantly embodies the excellence of the Côte de Nuits. A true gem of Burgundy, the village of Vosne-Romanée rests on exceptional limestone marls, the birthplace of the world's greatest wines. The 2023 vintage, one of the warmest and most generous ever recorded in Burgundy, produces a Pinot Noir with remarkable maturity, smooth, long, and complex on the palate, with notes of ripe red and black fruits.

Upon tasting, the robe is intense and luminous, announcing a highly complex nose: morello cherry, nutmeg, camphor wood, and fine leather blend harmoniously, with a promise of truffle to come with time. In the mouth, the balance between tannins and acidity is perfect, the body elegant, and the finish powerful, long, and harmoniously rich. Aged for 14 to 16 months in oak barrels from high-quality French forests (20 to 25% new barrels), this wine expresses rare finesse and absolute respect for the terroir. Ideally enjoyed between 2025 and 2038, with aging potential up to 2040.
