Givry 1er Cru Red Wine Bottle 2023

This Givry 1er Cru Clos du Cellier aux Moines 2023 from Cellier aux Moines comes from a historic plot of Givry identified for centuries by the Cistercian monks as one of the jewels of the Burgundy vineyard, beautifully exposed facing south, below the monks' cellar (built around 1130). The vines at Cellier are cultivated using biodynamic methods and the grapes are partially destemmed before being placed almost intact in vats to preserve all their aromatic and gustatory potential. The aging process takes place in oak barrels for 18 months.

This 2023 vintage reveals velvety notes of peony, red berries, plum, spices, orange peel, and clove. The palate is harmonious, with fine tannins framed by a beautiful energy and a salivating finish. A great wine!
