This magnum of Cornas L’Élégance du Caillou 2023 is a superb 100% Syrah cuvée from the talented winemaker Julien Pilon. Sourced from two emblematic terroirs of the appellation – La Côte and Sauman – located in a south-eastern exposure, this Cornas subtly embodies the power and finesse of the great Syrahs from the northern Rhône region.

The 2023 vintage was aged for 18 months in 500 L barrels, including 30% new barrels, giving the wine a beautiful structure and remarkable aromatic complexity. On tasting, the wine captivates with its intense aromas of ripe red fruits, sweet spices, violet, and smoked bacon. The palate is ample, gourmet, and refined, supported by an elegant and promising tannic framework.

An expressive and authentic cuvée to enjoy today after aerating, or to forget for a few years in the cellar for even more depth.
