Magnum red Châteauneuf du Pape 2022 Château de Nalys
This magnum from Château de Nalys 2022, signed by Maison Guigal, is a superb expression of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, combining richness, finesse, and character. This great red wine comes from a historic estate dating back to the 16th century, completely rehabilitated and enhanced by Guigal, an iconic figure of the Rhône Valley.
A noble blend from three prestigious terroirs
The 2022 vintage comes from the best terroirs of the estate: La Crau (rolled pebbles), Bois Sénéchal (sandy red clays), and Nalys (fine sands), each bringing structure, complexity, and freshness. The harmonious blend is predominantly based on Grenache, complemented by Syrah, Mourvèdre, and other traditional grape varieties of the appellation.
Tasting notes: controlled power and great elegance
This Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2022 captivates with its intense garnet color and expressive nose, blending ripe black fruits, scrubland, black pepper, fine leather, and a floral touch. On the palate, the texture is ample, velvety, carried by supple but deep tannins, beautiful freshness, and a long, spicy finish. The balanced and sunny 2019 vintage offers great drinkability today while possessing excellent aging potential.
Food and wine pairing
This magnum is ideal for enhancing flavorful dishes: roasted rack of lamb, game in sauce, Provençal daube, porcini mushroom risotto, or matured cheeses. Perfect for large gatherings and festive meals.
The magnum format favors a slower and more harmonious evolution of the wine, while creating a prestigious visual effect on the table. It ensures optimal storage for a mature tasting experience in the next 10 to 15 years.
