Magnum of Givry 1er Cru Red Wine

This Magnum of Givry 1er Cru Clos du Cellier aux Moines 2013 from Cellier aux Moines comes from a historic plot in Givry, identified for centuries by the Cistercian monks as one of the gems of the Burgundy vineyard. The vineyard is beautifully exposed to the south, below the monks' cellar (built around 1130). The vines at Cellier are cultivated using biodynamic methods, and the grapes are partially destemmed before being gently crushed to preserve all their aromatic and gustatory potential. The wine is aged in oak barrels for 18 months.

This 2013 vintage is perfectly mature and offers superb aromas of candied fruits, raspberry, and strawberry. The tannins are very delicate, and the tertiary aromas related to the wine's evolution (leather, undergrowth, peony) bring a superb aromatic complexity.
