This magnum of Bergerie de l'Hortus 2023 expresses all the uniqueness of Pic Saint Loup, carried by terroirs blending fractured limestones and pure marls at the foot of the famous massif. The vineyard here benefits from lean and dry soils that naturally concentrate the aromas and give the wine a remarkable depth. The Syrahs planted on the limestones bring freshness and structure, while the Grenaches and Mourvèdres from the marls provide a rounder and warmer texture.

The vinification, carried out gently, favors delicate extraction and a long maceration to refine the tannins. The wine is then aged for ten months in tanks to preserve the full expression of the fruit. The result: a harmonious Pic Saint Loup, blending notes of black fruits, delicate spices, and a touch of scrubland evoking Aleppo pines, rosemary, and laurustinus that surround the estate. Ample, balanced, and endowed with a beautiful energy, this 2023 can be enjoyed now or aged for about five years.
