This magnum of Mâcon-Villages Terroirs du Mâconnais 2023 by Bret Brothers perfectly embodies the spirit of Southern Burgundy and the philosophy of the estate: expressing the purity and diversity of the great terroirs of Mâconnais. Made from a blend of grapes from Mâcon-Chaintré, Mâcon-Fuissé, Viré-Clessé, Saint-Véran, and Pouilly, this cuvée offers a superb balance between richness, freshness, and precision. The vines, aged between 25 and 70 years, draw richness from diverse soils, giving the wine its aromatic depth. Entirely vinified and aged in 228-liter oak barrels for 11 months, this Chardonnay reveals an expressive bouquet of white flowers, yellow-fleshed fruits, and delicate brioche notes. On the palate, the attack is lively, the texture is ample, and the finish is elegant, with a typical Mâconnais touch of saltiness and citrus. An authentic, approachable, and refined wine that proves a Mâcon-Villages can compete with the finest neighboring appellations.

Ideal with Mâconnais goat cheese, grilled fish, or cream-based poultry dishes. Serve at around 11-12 °C. This wine can be enjoyed from now until 2026.
