Maison Delamain

The Delamain House is one of the most historic in Cognac, with a heritage dating back to 1759, the year when an Irish immigrant, James Delamain, settled in Jarnac, in the heart of the Charente region. The name Delamain became permanently established in the Cognac heritage in 1824, when Henri Delamain, grandson of James, founded the Delamain House. Since then, a constant commitment has been made to the production process. Firstly, in the selection of eaux-de-vie, which are exclusively sourced from the "Grande Champagne" region, the leading area for the best eaux-de-vie needed for the production of Cognac.

Another unique aspect is that Delamain lowers the alcohol content of its cognacs - after double distillation - using old cognacs with a low alcohol content, rather than water (the "classic" method). The Delamain style consists of cognacs that undergo very long aging (minimum 20 years) in French oak barrels, resulting in a delicate, pure, and elegant aroma. Since 2017, the Delamain family has partnered with the Bollinger house to best uphold its brand image.
