Magnum red Châteauneuf du Pape Saintes Pierres 2023 Château de Nalys
The Magnum Saintes Pierres de Nalys 2023, a red wine from the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation signed by Maison Guigal, embodies an accessible and refined cuvée, revealing all the richness and generosity of this great terroir in the Southern Rhône Valley. It perfectly illustrates Guigal's expertise, serving a wine that is both flavorful, structured, and velvety, designed to provide pleasure from today while also having real aging potential.
A traditional and expressive blend
This 2023 vintage is a blend dominated by Grenache Noir, accompanied by Syrah, Muscardin, and other typical grape varieties of the appellation such as Mourvèdre, Cinsault, or Vaccarèse. Each grape variety is vinified separately to preserve its typical characteristics, before a harmonious blend is created, giving rise to a wine that is balanced between fruitiness, depth, and freshness.
An exceptional terroir in three expressions
A reasoned viticulture, respectful of the soil and the plants, allows for a meticulous selection of the highest quality plots, giving this cuvée all the identity of Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
Tasting notes: balance, suppleness, and generosity
In the glass, the color is deep garnet with purple reflections. The nose is expressive, with notes of ripe black fruits, spices, scrubland, and licorice. On the palate, the attack is ample, with silky tannins, beautiful substance, and a long finish with slight peppery accents.
Food and wine pairings
This Magnum of Châteauneuf-du-Pape will pair well with generous dishes such as:
It is a perfect match for festive meals and convivial gatherings.
To be enjoyed now or aged
Already very pleasant thanks to its roundness and aromatic complexity, this 2019 can be enjoyed today, but it will gain depth with time. The Magnum format promotes optimal aging, allowing for evolution over 7 to 10 years, or even longer under good conditions.
