This 2022 white Saint-Romain from the Joseph Drouhin house comes from this superb village in the south of the Côte de Beaune, not far from the famous Chassagne-Montrachet and Saint-Aubin. The Chardonnay grape variety thrives wonderfully on this high-altitude terroir (400m) at the foot of limestone cliffs. A cool climate that is perfectly suited to the current global warming, especially in a hot vintage like 2022. This Saint-Romain is typical of its terroir: you can recognize expressive notes of white flowers and ripe yellow fruits (yellow plum) framed by a touch of honey and ginger. The finish stretches out with minerality and a fresh saline quality that calls for a meal! A mouth-watering and flavorful wine that can be paired with seafood, for example.
