This jeroboam of Nuits Saint Georges Les Grandes Vignes 2023 from Pierre-Olivier Garcia is a very beautiful plot located on the edge of Premeaux Prissé, next to the vineyards of Comte Liger Belair.

Pierre Olivier Garcia uses an atypical technique called "berry by berry": it consists of harvesting and then drastically sorting the grapes, by cutting the stem (the vegetative part of the cluster) with scissors to leave the pedicel (the stem in contact with the grape berry) intact. A very time-consuming and labor-intensive practice, therefore very rarely used by winemakers. Without compromise, Pierre-Olivier applies it to all of his cuvées, up to 1/3 of the harvest (1/3 remaining is destemmed, the other third in whole cluster fermentation). The nose exudes wildflowers, rose, peony, and lilac. This Grandes Vignes is an ethereal wine, both delicate and elegant, with flavors of elderberry, cranberry, wild strawberry, and a very nice acidity, almost a mineral finish. Very nice as every year!
