Magnum Mercurey 1st Cru Rouge De Suremain Bondue 2023
Loïc de Suremain embodies a long family tradition established at Château de Bourgneuf, on the outskirts of Mercurey. A passionate winemaker and man of the land, he practices sustainable viticulture, prioritizing patient work in the vineyard to harvest healthy, ripe grapes in controlled quantities. In the cellar, vinification is carried out with respect for the fruit: meticulous sorting and destemming, maceration in wooden vats with temperature control, followed by a minimum aging of 12 months in oak barrels in the estate's cellars.
The Magnum Mercurey 1st Cru La Bondue 2023 comes from a clay-limestone terroir resting on the bedrock, enriched with iron oxide, which gives the wine both power and depth. The 2023 vintage, marked by a beautiful ripeness of the grapes, offers an expressive, balanced, and digestible wine. The palate seduces with soft and fine tannins, a precise structure, and great deliciousness. The aromatic profile unfolds with tangy red and black fruits – blackcurrant, blueberry, cherry – enhanced by a subtle smoky and slightly meaty touch.
A 2023 earthy, juicy, and vibrant 1st Cru Mercurey, true to the spirit of the estate. Ideal to be shared around fine red meats or game, just as the winemaker himself likes to imagine.
