Magnum Chassagne-Montrachet 1er cru blanc Le Clos de la Chapelle 2021 Domaine de la Vougeraie
An exceptional monopoly in the golden triangle
Walled off for centuries, the plot of Clos de la Chapelle – barely 1 hectare on the Morgeot hillside – joins the collection of monopolies at Domaine de la Vougeraie in 2021. Facing east/southeast, it rests on a deep soil of marls mixed with clay and limestone. Managed in certified biodynamics since its integration, it offers a precise and luminous expression of Chardonnay.
Vintage 2021: freshness and precision
Manual harvesting, whole-cluster pressing, fermentation in barrels followed by ≈ 16 months of aging in barrels (≈ 25% new) attest to meticulous work. Only confidential quantities – including a few magnums – come to light, showing 13.5% ABV.
Serve at 12 °C after 30 minutes in a decanter. Enhances scallops, roasted lobster, creamy Bresse poultry, or a 24-month-old Comté cheese.
The tension of the vintage promises a harmonious evolution over 10 to 15 years, gaining in aromatic complexity.
A rare and great white wine, combining mineral purity and depth, intended for the finest tables or patient cellars.
