Domaine Cheveau

The Cheveau domain, a very reliable producer from Mâconnais, is located in the hamlet of Solutré-Pouilly, right in the heart of the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation. The domain was founded in 1950 by André Cheveau. Today, the 14-hectare domain is managed by André's grandson, Nicolas. The vineyard still focuses on its historic territory, Pouilly-Fuissé, with some lovely plots also in Davayé (Mâconnais) and Saint-Amour (Beaujolais).

The harvest is done by hand, and the wines are mostly aged in oak barrels, between 8 and 12 months depending on the cuvées. The aging on fine lees gives the white wines a beautiful balance between chalky minerality and crispness, with notes of fresh fruit, apricot, white peach, and nectarine. The red wines are tasty and easy to drink, combining finely tangy red fruits and a nice grain of tannins that provide structure.

The Cheveau domain continues to offer wines of superb quality/price ratio, and the deliciousness of the wines enchants us every year.
