Originally, the Tardy family was located in Flagey-Echezeaux, just a few kilometers from Vosne-Romanée. The father of Jean Tardy worked as a sharecropper for the Etienne Camuzet estate. Starting in 1981, Jean focused on his own estate and gradually expanded it. In 2003, his son Guillaume took over the management of the Domaine Jean Tardy & Fils, benefiting from very beautiful terroirs (Echezeaux, Chambolle-Musigny Les Athets, Vosne-Romanée...). The viticulture is intended to be organic (not certified) with soil work (ploughing) and organic fertilization. Guillaume's main goal is to harvest grapes in perfect health and maturity, not hesitating to prune and carry out green harvests to concentrate aromas and sugars in the retained grapes. In the cellar, the grapes are destemmed, sorted, and aged for a minimum of 16 months (two winters) in oak barrels. The wines deliver an aromatic profile with very pure fruit, combining the finesse and elegance of Pinot Noir while respecting the expression of each terroir without excessive manipulation. The magnums of wines from Domaine Tardy featured on this site are directly from the estate.
